So many hours crocheting and honestly, I'm starting to feel a little Loop - y!
A friend of ours, Bill Kelly, is raising much-needed money for the Flying Doctors. Please click on the link below if you can find it in your wallet to support his incredible efforts.
Australia is a big country, and for those living in rural and remote areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee. For some communities, the nearest hospital is eight hours drive away.
This October, he is taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, he hopes to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!

A little bit about Royal Flying Doctors Australia
Royal Flying Doctor Service Australia brings emergency medical and primary health services to regional, rural, and remote communities, many of which don't have any other healthcare access. They make it possible for people to live, work, and travel across this large, harsh, unique, and beautiful country. Royal Flying Doctor Service Australia has 79 aircrafts that cover the length and breadth of the country, delivering aeromedical services. This map shows the fleet of RFDS aircraft that are currently in the air, providing vital services across Australia.
Royal Flying Doctor Service Australia travels far and wide to offer 24/7 aeromedical retrieval. But to create better health outcomes, they’ve gone even further.
Today, more than 50% of their daily operations are dedicated to extensive primary healthcare services, including dental, mental health, and healthcare education. There are 23 air bases and 65 clinics held every day; 2,370 medical chests are located in rural and remote locations, supported by 24/7 telehealth services. Thanks to your donations, they can address the healthcare disparity between the city and the bush and improve health outcomes.
