So many hours crocheting and honestly, I'm starting to feel a little Loop - y!

In this blog I'm going to teach you how to do my favourite stitches, a popcorn, bobble, and puff stitch.

The popcorn stitch contains four double crochets. (To learn how to do the double crochet stitch see my April blog: https://billiesoffthehook.wixsite.com/my-site/post/top-5-simple-and-fun-crochet-stitches )

Popcorn stitch

  1. Yarn over, insert the crochet hook into the next space/stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, and yarn over, draw through two loops on the crochet hook. There will be two loops on your crochet hook at this stage.

  2. Yarn over, insert the crochet hook in the same stitch or space, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, and draw through 2 loops on your crochet hook 3 more times. There will be 5 loops on your crochet hook.

  3. Yarn over and draw through all of the loops on your crochet hook.

The popcorn stitch is beautiful and tactile for baby and children blankets, beanies, shawls, and toys.

Bobble stitch

  1. Yarn over and insert the hook into the next stitch.

  2. Yarn over and pull through, yarn over and pull the 2 stitches; repeat this 5 more times. You will have six loops on your crochet hook.

  3. Yarn over and pull through all of the loops on your crochet hook.

The bobble stitch is great and tactile for blankets, scarves, cushions, and pillows.

Puff stitch

  1. Yarn over, insert the crochet hook into the next space/stitch yarn over, and pull up a loop.

  2. Yarn over, insert the crochet hook in the same stitch/space and then pull up a loop. Do this four times.

  3. There will be 11 loops on your crochet hook. Yarn over, and draw the crochet hook through all loops on your hook.

I use the bobble stitch for almost all my crochet blankets. I love how it is very tactical and comes in many different designs. I can do almost any project with the bobble stitch. All three of these stitches are crocheted on the wrong side of the design you are working on. Meaning that the texture part of the stitch will be pushed away from you. The front, right side will be textured, and the back, wrong side will be flat. The pattern is a repeat of the same two rows, a row of single crochet, and a bobble, puff, or popcorn stitch.

Have fun learning my favourite stitches and enjoy!

I've gotta go! Your girl is hooked and busy ❤
