So many hours crocheting and honestly, I'm starting to feel a little Loop - y!

I just recently donated a crochet blanket and a shawl (photo above) to Katie Rose Cottage Hospice. They auctioned them off to raise money for supporting and caring for people who are at the end of their lives and the families that are grieving for a loved one. The crochet blanket and shawl are in the living room of the Katie Rose Cottage Hospice in Doonan, Queensland, Australia for the people and families who are in need of a warm hug, a smile, and a conversation. Katie Rose raised around $50,000 from their auction. WOW!! That is incredible. What a difference this would make in the community.

Here is a little bit about Katie Rose:

Katie Rose Cottage Hospice is a community-driven service. The community, auctions, and fundraisers provide 80% of the funding and 20% of the funding comes from the government to support them. Katie Rose Cottage Hospice is a not-for-profit, 24/7 care service that provides for those in the community who are facing a terminal illness, dying from old age, or grieving the loss of a loved one. They provide end-of-life care which is run by a team of professionals, including registered nurses, carers, grieving counsellors, volunteer carers, clinical nurses, and so many other support systems in place to help families in need. Being a not-for-profit organisation, all donations that are received are gratefully accepted (link below).
