So many hours crocheting and honestly, I'm starting to feel a little Loop - y!
There are over 100 different crochet stitches that you can do. Below are the five that you will come across the most and that are the easiest to learn:
Chain (ch)
Single crochet (sc)
Half double crochet (hdc)
Double crochet (dc)
Slip stitch (sl st).
When you know these easy crochet stitches, you can make simple patterns like baby blankets, shawls, beanies, and many more projects. In the next few blogs I will teach you the five simple stitches mentioned above.
How do you read crochet charts for squares?
They are read in the same direction as the way you crochet. Starting from the bottom, you read from right to left (if you are right-handed) or left to right (if you are left-handed). Right to left is an odd number of rows (this is true whether you are right or left-handed), and left to right is an even number of rows.
How do you read crochet charts for rounded projects?
Rounded crochet charts are read and worked from the inside out, starting from the centre. If you are right-handed you will crochet clockwise and the opposite if you are left-handed. Most rounded crochet charts have row numbers on the right side of each row.
I've gotta go! Ya, girl is hooked and busy ❤
